Hello, I'm Janelle. My life's mission is to help make the world a better place by helping people boost their quality of life with resources they need.
I earned an undergraduate degree (BA) in marketing (minor in psychology) from California State University, San Bernardino, then my master of public health (health education and global health double emphasis) from Loma Linda University School of Public Health. I went on to further graduate studies in world religions with an interest in how the dominant religion of a nation impacts how resources are allocated regarding the most vulnerable populations. (Think India v Norway, for example.)
The body-mind connection is central to my work as a health educator. Over the past 25 years, I have lived in South East Asia and Southern California. Many years of cross-cultural experiences with the Asian culture have gifted me with healing tools such as Reiki, Kundalini yoga, and meditation. I have studied several methods of healing that originate in the Orient and I make it my business to communicate these tools to a stress-out Western society. I also care very much about how holistic medicine is trending in the United States.
The mind-body connection is something Westerners have largely forgotten, bur are starting to remember again. We are born with wisdom and knowing what our bodies need for optimal health, but we learn other habits, forgetting to remember how to connect with ourselves. I aim to facilitate that remembering with these workshops -- now also available online as Zoom webinars.
